Do you want to FEEL BETTER?

...about yourself?...your relationships?...your life?
Psychotherapy helps.

Get Unstuck... Heal... Feel Better

My mission is to help clients heal mentally, spiritually, and in their relationships.  I do that in a variety of ways depending on the client’s needs and preferences.

Therapy can be defined as anything that is done that moves an individual toward health and wholeness.

Healing requires movement.  So, first, we’ll collaborate and determine how you’re stuck in your life.  As human beings, we reach out to others for assistance when we’re frustrated and can’t see any options for ourselves in a particular situation.  At that point, we’re feeling stuck…with obsessive thoughts or compulsive behaviors, with feelings that we don’t know how to process, or with a partner or job that’s unfulfilling.

Being or feeling stuck is the last place you want to be.  Life is about movement…whether it’s backwards, forwards, up or down.  Any kind of movement gets you unstuck and involved in the healing process.

I offer the following services to engage you in the healing process:

Hypnosis is a state of focused attention and heightened awareness.  It is a normal and natural state of altered consciousness.

The truth is that we hypnotize ourselves on a regular basis.  When you don’t realize that someone’s calling your name because you’re absorbed in a Youtube video or when you don’t realize that someone has walked into the room because you’re watching a movie, you’re in a state of hypnosis.  Another example is highway hypnosis which is an altered mental state in which you can apply the brake as needed when driving without any conscious recall of doing so.

We are creatures of habit more than anything else and most of us spend our days on the proverbial hamster wheel, going round and round, engaging in the same behavior, mired in the same feelings, making absolutely no progress toward our goals. We are stuck but can’t identify why.

Psychotherapy helps you get unstuck. It’s about identifying the thoughts, values, and beliefs that create the behavioral and emotional patterns that keep us stuck.

Past Life Regression Therapy (PLR) is another powerful and safe form of healing.

Stubborn issues in otherwise fulfilling relationships and irrational fears that seem to have no source are often rooted in past lives. The origin of trauma, phobias, compulsions, guilt, anger, grief can sometimes be found in another lifetime. So, too, relationship, emotional, physical and financial issues are carried with us as we travel through time. All of our experiences since day one of our existence are with us at all times.

Psychotherapy helps you discern options, and, there are ALWAYS options.

The first part of the psychotherapeutic process is coming to an awareness of the patterns in our lives. If we’re not aware of what we do or why we do it, those habitual patterns keep creating the same scenarios over and over again. It may be a different time or a different place with different faces, but the emotional landscape will be the same.

Psychotherapy helps you discern options, and, there are ALWAYS options. Sometimes, we find ourselves so scared, anxious, or emotionally paralyzed that we don’t see a way out of a difficult relationship or demanding situation. Other times, we get stuck on one feeling, say sadness or anger, and fail to realize that there are a vast array of feelings from which to choose.

We identify the options and help you decide which one will work for you. We talk about which choice you are most willing to implement in order to improve your life. Making conscious decisions is the second part of the therapeutic process.

Psychotherapy gives you freedom

From past unconstructive patterns so that you can make conscious, aware choices about creating the life that you really want.

Psychotherapy helps you feel better

At least, that’s the report that I’ve received from the vast majority of clients who I’ve worked with over the past 20 plus years.

Talking about your depression

Spouse, anxiety (whatever) with an objective professional who has your best interest at heart helps.

Receiving feedback, helps.

I’m active in sessions and give my clients feedback. That is, I don’t sit silently in sessions, shaking my head and muttering an occasional ah-ha. My goal is to give you something to think about in between sessions.

My approach with clients is collaborative. Together, we work towards the goals that you set for yourself. Just as I give you feedback, I ask that you do the same with me. I need you to tell me what’s working and what may not be.

Whether I’m working with an individual, couple or family

I use a variety of treatment modalities to maximize the experience for clients. I tailor the treatment to your needs and situation.

The length of treatment is also up to you.

Some clients come in to address a very specific issue and spend a short amount of time in treatment perhaps 6 – 10 sessions. The recommendation is to start treatment on a weekly basis. Research indicates that therapy is more effective on a weekly basis at least at the beginning of treatment.  Ultimately, it’s up to you.

Other clients are interested in personal growth and choose to stay for a while.

You may start with one issue but enjoy the process of uncovering pattern after pattern and find that your life continues to improve.  So, you may choose to stay for your own development.  Longer term clients can move to bi-weekly sessions and some choose to check in once a month or quarterly.  The choice is yours depending on your needs.
